I mostly just watch fandom from f_w, to be honest. I mock so I do not cry and destroy all my furniture in grand feats of headdesking.

I read f_w obsessively, ngl. But I'm such an uber-nerd that I can't help but get involved in everything I like. ;)

Second this. If I've ever been active in anything that could be considered a "big fandom" it would be Buffy.

Yes, I'm a gamer, and I do game translations but I also do game playthroughs on Youtube.

I used to be really into horror until I realized Stephen King bored me. :( I'd do vidblogs but I'm too fugly. :p

Oh wait, I -adore- old, crappy movies. Stuff that not even SyFy would air on their worst days/

I'm kind of casual in a lot of different realms. Nothing big enough like comics that I'm active in communities or anything like that. So, I like Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Eueka, etc, but I don't go out of my way to discuss it on those specific fandom forums and such.

Same goes for gaming. I play a couple of video games, but I don't obsess over them.

Closest I'd say that I have a fandom equal to comics would be wrestling, though that's become much more casual in the last few years. I've even attempted wrestling school at one point in my life (that's a long story). But I still own and occasionally buy some of the anthology DVD's, like Saturday Night's Main Event or Kane (who is one of my favourites...that I seem to be in the minority of).

Oh, and I've gamed here and there, with things like Rifts, Heroes Unlimited and a little bit of D&D. But never found a good group to game with in a number of years.

And used to play City of Heroes all the time (anyone recognize the name of Doug The Troll? :p), but lost interest.

There's a couple of 'big fandoms' I read in sometimes (Star Trek, Firefly), but recently I've mostly written fic for Metal Gear and couple of other videogames. I'm hoping that I can rustle up enough pennies to go to Dragoncon, and if I do I'll cosplay as Nabooru from Zelda. :)

I got into fandom through manga and anime and then sort of drifted from that into mainly scifi/fantasy television stuff, with a good dash of cartoons, crime dramas, and the odd tiny fandom like Good Omens. Anything that sparks my interest enough to amke me want to read or write fic about it.

I pretty much put all of my devotion into comics, really.
I'm pretty big on movies and music, and have a casual (super casual these days) interest in video games, but my nerd days are mostly behind me.

I am hard into Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest, and a shitton of other RPG's. Been a console gamer for damn near 25 years now and I regret nothing.

Buffy/Angel/Dollhouse. Never got into Firefly, and yes, I tried. I don't hate it, and I'm sure it's brilliant, but it's not my cup of tea.

A few fantasy authors - Terry Brooks/David Eddings/Peter David. I am so dying for A Princess Of Landover to come out next month.

Old-school slasher horror - NO TORTURE OR GORE PORN. Really into Nightmare On Elm Street SHUT UP THERE IS NO REMAKE I AM IN DENIAL LA LA LA

Just started playing D&D 4th Edition; I expect this to be the end of my life. (I am a Lawful Good 1st-level Human Female Paladin, aligned with Pelor, thank you.)

Also, weirdly into cleolinda's Secret Life Of Dolls. Don't ask.

I'm into Sci-Fi, anime, manga, movies.

I love old fiction like REH, Lovecraft and the like.

I'm a film buff, (I work at a movie theater)

I'm also a history buff.

My friends and I do group costumes at parties.

I would say that both manga and bande dessiné are part of comics fandom. I think you should have phrased it "apart from superhero comics" or "apart from American comics"

Oh, and I am reading f_w too.

I took 'active' to mean producer OR consumer in the first question, because beyond here, arguing with people on imdb (shut up SOMEONE might be listening) and the odd comment on 4thletter or old horror review on archive.org, most of my fandom action is in reading things people have written and then emailing my beloved about how wrong they are. Or in clothing-fandom.

I suppose telling people they're wrong about Torchwood does count as being active in Dr Who fandom? I don't like any of it, but I guess I'm there.

I think as long as you're involved in wanktacular, 300 comment discussions about what happened in episode 304 of whatever show, you're an active fan. Whether you produce or consume fanworks or not. ;)

I read manga and sometimes the anime, it's sort of a see-saw thing, if comics let me down I read manga's and if a manga let's me down I have comics to cheer me up. I mainly read Naruto and Hellsing (well the OVA's to be exact). I occasionally write fan fictions and draw fan art but I don't have any way of putting my art on the internet. I've read all the chapters of Harry Potter but I wasn't really gaga over it as some and I'm not really interest in ST, SW or Dr Who.

Me too! But if you're a gamer, you could do game posts to Noscans, and lure more members of your tribe in. ;)
