Superhero Fun Run

Coming up in Ireland: A Superhero Fun Run. They're hoping to break the world record of most people dressed up as superheroes in one venue. (Good luck beating ComicCon...) The event is to raise money for a children's hospital.

So, for one thing, I thought I'd let people know, just in case anyone was interested and going to be in Ireland this May.

Other thing is that the person I heard about it from is a professional author who had an indie comic book miniseries a little while back starring her own original superheroine. She's wondering: If she went to the fun run dressed as that character, would it be cool or embarrassing?

To me, the answer's obvious, but what say you, good people of NS_D?

I think it would depend on the character, and how it aligns with the lady herself.

If the character is "Godiva, the Nude Ninja", then I'd perhaps recommend caution, as whilst a free country I don't think it's that FREE.

If the character is "Iron Shoe", then I'd also suggest caution, but more for the sake of her having to do a "fun run" (Which I personally consider an oxymoron, but more power to those who enjoy such things) in cast iron boots.

Basically, if it's a character that wears a costume that's practical for a fun run, and she thinks it would be fun, then I'd say she should go for it, and sod anyone else's opinion.
